Insp Pete Sparrow said,

"It’s disappointing that there are still individuals who fail to recognise the dangers of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. This positive action prevented this driver driving whilst not fit to do so."

Meanwhile a 39 year old man was also arrested on suspicion of drink driving on Downton Road in Salisbury on New Year's Day.

He was also detained for resisting arrest.
