A338: Two vehicle crash at Newton Tony

One person has had to be cut free from their vehicle by firefighters.

Emergency crews were called out just after 6.10pm last night (Tuesday 7th January).

The road was closed at the Dogs Trust crossroads in both directions while the crash was being dealt with.

A Peugeot 3008 and a Kia Sportage were involved in the collision.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue tell us crews from Salisbury and Andover were called out to help one person out of their car.

They've said they 'released one casualty using hydraulic and electrical cutting equipment'.

Wiltshire Police tell us that luckily, no-one was injured in the crash.

Recovery was arranged for the two vehicles, with the road closed for a time.

The A338 re-opened at around 9.00pm.
