As the city marks its 800th anniversary year, there's set to be an 'awe-inspiring' show next month.

Sarum Lights will see colourful projections on both the inside and outside of the Cathedral.

There'll also be soundscapes to help tell the story of Salisbury's history.

The lights will be on from Tuesday 18th to Saturday 22nd February.

WHO CAN GO?

Anyone. It's been described as a 'family friendly' event, which given that it involves lights, will take place in the evening.

The Sarum Lights will be on between 7.00pm and 9.00pm each night.

There's also full wheelchair and pushchair access to all of the light installations around the Cathedral.

BOOK TICKETS

If you want to go along to Sarum Lights, you do have to book tickets.

They're available in advance from the Salisbury Cathedral website.

Here's the pricing:

  • £5 for adults
  • £4 for children under 16
  • £16 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children)
  • Children under 3 go free and do not require a ticket

Tickets will also be available on the gate for £8 each, with no concessions available.

Our tickets are sold in 15 minute slots, to try and stagger visitor arrivals and prevent queueing at the attractions.

ANYTHING ELSE?

While the Sarum Lights are on, only ticket holders will be allowed into the Cathedral Close, via the High Street or Harmham Gates.

The St Ann's (Exeter Street) gate will be closed.

If you want to buy tickets on the door, they'll only be available from the High Street gate.
