Frances Pleydell-Bouverie will serve jail time after pleading guilty to shoplifting and breaching a Community Protection Notice.

The 46 year-old, who is also the half-sister of the 9th Earl of Radnor, admitted to stealing clothing from Marks and Spencer.

She also failed to stick to a Community Protection Notice (CPN), which was put in place in November to try to tackle her anti-social behaviour and offending in the city centre.

She was arrested in November as part of Operation Hamper

At Salisbury Magistrates Court today (21st January) Pleydell-Bouverie was given a seven-day prison sentence, and a previous 12-week suspended prison sentence was activated.

These will be served consecutively, meaning she will spend a total of 13 weeks in prison.

The CPN, which bans her from entering certain businesses in Salisbury, will continue to be in place once she is released.

Neighbourhood PC Matt Holland, from Salisbury Community Policing Team said:

"This latest court case is a culmination of a vast amount of multi-agency work relating to the ongoing offending and anti-social behaviour caused by Pleydell-Bouverie.

This has included working with both Wiltshire Council and Salisbury City Council, as well as the Salisbury ShopWatch scheme, over the past 12 months.

Her behaviour has had a considerable impact on the quality of life of both people living in Bishopdown and members of staff at local businesses.

We will continue to work with partner agencies to ensure that Pleydell-Bouverie is supported when she leaves prison but also protect the innocent people who are impacted by her actions."

Salisbury Community Policing Team are continuing to target prolific shoplifters through Operation Vendor, which involves working with local businesses and other partners.
