A Vauxhall Insignia was stopped on Bishopdown Road in Salisbury yesterday (Thursday 30th January).

Officers spotted the vehicle just before 1pm with two people inside.

After they could smell cannabis in the vehicle, they conducted a search and found class A and class B drugs, as well as cash and two mobile phones.

The two men were subsequently taken to Melksham custody:

  • A 19-year-old from Reading was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of a class B drug
  • A 20-year-old man from London on suspicion of concerned in the offer to supply class A and possession of a class A drug

They have since been released under investigation

Sgt Lisa Lovatt said:

"Drug supply can bring violence and anti-social behaviour to a community and we are determined to ensure that those involved in illegal drugs know that Salisbury is not a place to travel to, if they wish to deal drugs under the police radar.

"We are committed to ensuring anyone involved in drug supply is identified and put before the courts. If you have any information which could help us, please contact us on 101."
