'Life-threatening' injuries in Sixpenny Handley crash

Three cars were involved in the collision on the B3081.

The crash happened at about 6.00pm yesterday evening (Saturday 1st February), just south of the Sixpenny Handley roundabout, going towards Wimborne St Giles and Ringwood.

A red VW Up BlueMotion, a black Audi A3 and a green Isuzu pick-up were involved.

INJURIES

A total of five adults and two children were hurt as a result of the crash: 

  • A woman, who was driving the VW has been taken to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries
  • A male passenger from that vehicle also suffered serious injuries
  • The man, who was driving the Isuzu, is seriously injured
  • Two adults and two children who were in the Audi suffered only minor injuries

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue tweeted about their involvement:

Police Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the Dorset Police traffic unit, said: 

"We are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision.

"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision and any motorists who have relevant dashcam footage to come forward."

The road has been closed throughout the night to allow for investigation work and safe recovery of the cars involved.
