Amesbury woman cautioned after attempted theft

She was caught taking £214.87 worth of items from Tesco Extra in Salisbury.

The 41 year-old was detained by staff at the Southampton Road store on Monday (3rd February) after seeing her trying to leave without paying. 

Two police officers attended the scene and arrested the woman.

The stolen goods were returned in store and the woman was issued with an Adult Caution

The arrest was part of Operation Vendor, with the Tesco store having a direct link to the force via the Salisbury Shopwatch radio.
