The National Trust is looking for more help at the hugely popular Wiltshire visitor attraction.

They are particularly keen to hear from those who're enthusiastic about people, history, gardens and conservation.

The Stourhead team is looking for more volunteers to care for, and share the story of, the world-famous landscape garden and Palladian house, near Mere.

  • Volunteer recruitment days are taking place at Stourhead this weekend, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February
  • The sessions are at the Memorial Hall in Stourton
  • They are open from 10.30am to 12.30pm

WHAT TO EXPECT

There will be a short presentation and an opportunity to talk to staff and volunteers about the roles available. The recruitment team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Over 500 volunteers in a wide range of roles currently work alongside the staff team at Stourhead, ensuring the collection is cared for and that visitors have a great experience.

The magic of Stourhead is infectious and everyone is so passionate about this special place and the work of the National Trust, and there's always something new to learn or do. I particularly love meeting our new volunteers at their induction day and then seeing them enjoying their roles. It shows me that the benefits of volunteering go far beyond helping our visitors have a great day."

The team will be recruiting to a wide range of volunteer roles including room guides, garden guides, fundraising assistants, buggy drivers, shuttle drivers, welcome assistants, restaurant assistants. events volunteers and a marketing and communication role.
