A345 CRASH UPDATE: Driver trapped under car

The collision happened after the driver apparently lost control in the early hours of Friday morning (7 Feb).

The A345 has been re-opened almost 6 hours after it was closed because of after a serious crash.

It happened around 3.30am between Stock Bottom and High Post.

A white BMW, heading north on the A345 towards Amesbury, is believed to have hit a kerb at the roadside and rebounded across the carriageway before ending up on the grass verge.


The driver - a woman in her 20s - was ejected from the car and became trapped under the vehicle.

She sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The front seat passenger of the vehicle - another woman in her 20s - suffered minor cuts and bruising.


The road was closed for almost 6 hours as a result of the crash. It was re-opened by Police at around 9.15am.

The crash happened between Stock Bottom and High Post.


Police would  like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, including anyone who may have dash cam footage.
