Emergency services are dealing with a fire at two properties.

  • The fire broke out at 2.24pm this afternoon (Fri 7 Feb)
  • Reports say two houses are on fire in Olivier Road at Wilton
  • The road has been closed

Police have apparently advised neighbours to keep windows and doors closed while the Fire Service deal with this.

It's believed everyone is out of the properties, including one of the family's pet dog.

At least eight fire engines are at the scene of the blaze in Olivier Road...

It's anticipated Firefighters will be in attendance at this incident for some time.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue told Spire FM News:

"At 2.24pm fire control operators received the first of several 999 calls to a property fire in Olivier Road, Wilton. Firefighters from Wilton and Salisbury were alerted to this incident, which was believed to be a fire on the first floor.

On arrival firefighters quickly requested further resources and we currently have eight fire engines from Wilton, Salisbury (x2), Shaftesbury, Warminster, along with our Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service colleagues from Romsey, Fordingbridge and an aerial ladder platform from St Mary’s, in attendance at this incident."

"Firefighters have extinguished a fire in the first floor bedroom using breathing apparatus, hose reels and main lines. Firefighting operations continue as the fire has spread to an adjoining property via the loft space. A fire investigation officer is on scene and will begin investigating the cause of the fire as soon as it is safe to do so."

Salisbury Reds have tweeted to say the R8 service is affected:
