Yellow weather warnings have been issued for Saturday and Sunday (15th/16th February).

After Storm Ciara battered South Wiltshire and West Hampshire over the last few days, the Met Office is now telling us to expect more bad weather.

A yellow warning for wind is in place from 12pm until 23:59pm on Saturday (15th), while we can expect heavy rain from 12pm Saturday until 12pm Sunday.

This is due to Storm Dennis, which is set to cause disruption across England and Wales.

Storm Dennis warnings
The warnings are in place for our region

We could see gusts of wind of up to 54 miles per hour on Saturday.

Here's what we can expect over the weekend:

  • There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
  • Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
  • There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
  • There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses
  • There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris
  • There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs

The Met Office are issuing similar advice to last week by saying to only travel when it is necessary.
