The club's looking for our help to make sure their games are still able to go ahead.

The severe weather last weekend caused plenty of disruption, including at Amesbury Rugby's ground in Archers Way.

One of the posts on the pitch buckled under the strength of the wind, and is too damaged to be repaired.

The wooden post has been damaged beyond repair in the strong winds

The club's now set up a JustGiving page to replace the post, with a target of £900.

They're doing well so far, having raised over two thirds of the money.

Any excess funds will go into training equipment and club funds for the future too.

WHY THE URGENCY FOR NEW POSTS?

The club's keen to get the pitch ready a number of home fixtures left for both the men's and women's teams this season.

Their Under 15s side is also due to have their first ever fixture this weekend (Sunday 16th February).

Amesbury Rugby says they'd 'hugely appreciate' some support from the community.

On their JustGiving page, they've explained a little more about their mission:

"We have worked hard over the past few years to build an inclusive community club, aiming to eventually cater for all. We are so proud to be up and running with our junior programme, and are looking to expand to girls rugby as well as other age groups."
