The Salisbury based charity is looking for donations of things like clothing and furniture.

The Trussell Trust has four retail shops in the city, along with another six in the rest of Wiltshire and Dorset.

It's one of their biggest sources of regular income, so the charity's made a desperate plea for items to sell on.

One of the Trussell Trust's stores is on Salisbury's Catherine Street

Izzie Ballantine Dykes is the Social Enterprise Co-Ordinator for the charity and says their branches are vital:

"(The money raised) goes straight back into the charity to tackle UK hunger and poverty. I think people do think that with such positive news coming out of the Trussell Trust at the moment, we don't need anything at the moment - but we are always on the lookout for stock for our shops so that we can keep the good work up."

There's a particular push to get good quality ladies' clothing for the stores.

But Izzie Ballantine Dykes says they can take most textiles from generous donators:

"We work with recycling companies, which not only keep clothes out of landfill which is great, but also we can raise money for the charity through that as well."

Furniture would also be welcomed for their branches that sell bulkier items, such as:

  • Wardrobes
  • Beds
  • Sofas and armchairs
  • Tables and chairs
  • Chest of drawers

The High Street branch is in need of donations too

We can take items to any of the Trussell Trust's retail shops in Salisbury:

  • 50 High Street
  • 7 Catherine Street
  • Stephenson Road, Churchfields
  • St Michael's Community Centre, Bemerton Heath

Any furniture should be taken to the Stephenson Road branch, where there's also parking for people to drop off items.

There's also a free collection service for the charity to collect any large pieces of furniture.
