Jo Boyles has been working hard over the last few months to get her new project up and running.

The Rocketship Bookshop is opening its Bridge Street doors to the public today (Wednesday 19th February).

Jo has returned the venue back to its former glory as, years ago, it used to house the Everyman Bookshop

The last use of the building was the @Home bar, so Jo and her helpers have been stripping out the interior to make it look more like a children's bookshop.

It will stock books for all ages from babies up to young adults, as well as some titles by local authors.

After working in Waterstones for 15 years, the Salisbury mum says there's been a lot of hard work gone into it so far:

"We're really excited, it's been four months of work to get it all together and it's been a dream of mine for years and years so the fact that it's open is kind of amazing.

I love books and I know children who find the books that are important to them go on to read for the rest of their lives, which is so important."
