New flood warning issued for South Wiltshire

Groundwater flooding is now expected for Bourne Valley in The Winterbournes.

They say that a number of villages in the south of the county are at risk: 

  • Cholderton
  • Newton Tony
  • Allington
  • Boscombe
  • Idmiston
  • Porton
  • Gomeldon
  • The Winterbournes

People living nearby are being advised to prepare property flood resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed.

OTHER WARNINGS

Meanwhile two other flood warnings are still in place: 

  • Groundwater flooding for the Ebble Valley
  • Groundwater flodding for the Wylye Valley

As well as a number of flood alerts: 

  • Groundwater flooding in the Cranborne Chase area
  • Groundwater flooding in the Salisbury Plain area
  • Middle Avon and tributaries
  • River Bourne and tributaries
  • River Ebble and tributaries
  • River Wylye and tributaries
  • Upper Avon and tributaries
