The fifth and final chance to see the fantastic night time light show at Salisbury Cathedral is completely sold out.

This spectacular event at the Cathedral, which is marking the start of the Salisbury 2020 celebrations, has been really well received and looks like it's already a resounding success.

  • Over 11,000 people visited Sarum Lights in its first two days
  • Tickets for the final show tonight have already sold out

SARUM LIGHTS: Spectacular projections have been used to illuminate the Salisbury Cathedral

Visitors have been queuing to get into the Cathedral Close to witness the most iconic part of this immersive experience, the projection onto the West Front (main entrance side) of the Cathedral.

Everything is accompanied by soundscapes inside and outside the Cathedral to give you a full audio-visual journey.

It's been described as an 'awe-inspiring' event, telling the story of Salisbury's history. Visitors have already been using words such as 'epic', 'amazing', 'colourful' and 'utterly gorgeous!'

The projections in and outside the Cathedral are on for the final time tonight, Saturday 22nd February.

  • TICKETS: Tickets for Saturday night have now sold out.

Peter Walker is from Luxmuralis, the company behind the lightshow told Spire FM News:

"People can come in, they walk around the cloisters, they take in the atmosphere and then bit by bit they'll be let into the knave of the Cathedral.

"Then they will walk through the knave as they will have never seen it before. All the stained glass windows as kaleidoscopes of light telling the story of the building, but in a really different way."

With the high number of visitors to Salisbury Cathedral, there are some road closures in place during the evening for Sarum Lights.

These closures are in place between 6.00 and 11.00pm:

  • There'll be no vehicle access via the High Street Gate
  • No pedestrian access to the Close will be available, unless you are attending the show
  • St Ann's Gate will be closed
  • No parking will be available in the Close
  • Access for ticket holders only through the Harnham Gate
