The makers of a city version of the popular board game have been revealing which are the most popular.

Voting has been open for the last week to choose which local good causes should be immortalised on the playing board.

Nominations closed last night (Wednesday 4th March) to suggest charities that could take up the three Community Chest spaces.

There will be three spaces on the Salisbury MONOPOLY board reserved for local charities

Game makers, Winning Moves UK, have told Spire FM they had more than 2,000 nominations of organisations that we'd like to feature.

Their only criteria was that the charity needed to be 'clearly Salisbury focused' and must be registered with the Charity Commission.

There are a number of charities that have been suggested by followers - with a few names coming up time and time again.

Some of the most commonly put forward have been:

  • Stars Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital
  • Salisbury Hospice
  • Horatio's Garden
  • Alabare
  • The Trussell Trust
  • Encircles
  • Wiltshire Search and Rescue
  • John McNeill Opportunity Centre
  • Wiltshire Air Ambulance

We'll get to find out more about the Salisbury MONOPOLY game later in the year

Winning Moves UK say they'll now go through 'each and every vote' to decide which good causes should end up on the Salisbury MONOPOLY board.

We won't find out who features until the summer.

The full game's due to be released in October this year.
