The King's Head Inn on Bridge Street is shutting for 4 weeks.

The city centre pub is closing for a 32-day 'major refurbishment' project.

It'll shut at the end of business hours this Sunday, 8th March 2020.

Ashley Weller, a spokesperson for the JD Wetherspoon pub chain, told Spire FM News:

"We can confirm that The King's Head Inn (Salisbury) will close for refurbishment and improvements."

"The work starts 9 March and the pub is due to reopen again on 10 April."

Ashley also said:

"The hotel will remain open but, with the pub closed, there will be no food available on site for hotel guests."

The company has also told Spire FM News that it will reveal further details about the works, and exactly what the refit entails, very soon.

The King's Head Inn had a £1m major upgrade less than 6 years ago.

It was closed for 12 days in June 2014. That work saw a full redecoration of the hotel, with new bedroom furniture and new bathrooms for all 33 en-suite hotel rooms.

The pub also underwent full redecoration, with new tables and a redesign of the pub beer garden, including new furniture.
