Serious crash on A36 at Heytesbury

A motorcyclist has died as a result of the incident.

Wiltshire Police have told Spire FM a van and a motorcyclist have been involved in a collision at around 10.40am today (Monday 9th March).

The rider, who's in his 60s and from the Westbury area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The A36 has been closed between Heytesbury and the Crockerton roundabouts.

Highways England has put an official diversion route in place:

The driver of the Ford Transit van involved wasn't hurt.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Police are now asking anyone who might have seen what happened in the incident to get in touch with them.
