Motorcyclist dies in A36 crash

The incident happened shortly before 10:40am this morning (Monday 9th March).

Police were called to a collision between a motorcyclist and a van on the A36 between the Crockerton and Heytesbury roundabouts.

A man in his 60s from the Westbury area, who was riding the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: 

"His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time."

The crash happened somewhere between the Crockerton and Heytesbury roundabouts on the A36

The male driver of the Ford Transit van was not injured and no arrests have been made at this time. 

The road also remains closed for the time being. 


Wiltshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident today, to come forward and help with their investigations. 

This includes anyone who may have dash cam footage
