Police are renewing their appeal for information following a distraction theft in Salisbury.

At around 12:30pm on Saturday 7th March, a woman in her 60s had money stolen from her purse in the Maltings car park.

After parking her car, she was approached by a man who asked her for change for the machine.

While she was trying to help him, the suspect used sleight of hand to steal a quantity of money from her purse.

Police have now issued the CCTV image in hopes someone might be able to help identify him.

The victim described him as:

  • Olive skinned
  • Around 6ft tall
  • In his late 30s or early 40s
  • Average build
  • Well-dressed

She also felt he was pretending he couldn't speak English very well.
