They say it has been a very difficult decision for them to make.

Salisbury Museum is going to be closed "for the immediate future" due to the coronavirus outbreak.

They have no date on when they will re-open as the health of their visitors, staff and volunteers is of the utmost importance to them.

In a statement on their website, Salisbury Museum said:

"This was a very difficult decision for the museum to make. As an independent museum and charity the museum depends on revenue from ticket sales and events in order to remain sustainable. Your support through this difficult time, and when we re-open, will be more important than ever."

Updates will be posted on their social media and website about when they plan to open their doors to the public again.
