Salisbury Hospice's 'Strictly' contest raises thousands

Couples were taught to jive, waltz, Paso and more to support the charity.

Six amateur dancing pairs took to the floor at Salisbury Arts Centre last weekend (Saturday 14th March).

The dancers were given routines to learn and impress the judges in the hope of taking home the glitterball trophy.

Salisbury performing arts troupe Starcast were also on hand to entertain guests.

Professional dancers Emma Tarrant and Lawrence James treated the audience to an exhibition routine too.

The event's brought £11,439.96 to Salisbury Hospice, towards care for patients with terminal illnesses and their families.

The charity supports around 1,000 people every year and has to raise £1.5 million a year to keep their services running.

Strictly Come Fundraising got support from sponsors including Southons of Salisbury, English Plumbing Company, Alice's In Wonderland, Fawcetts Chartered Accountants, Sandown Mercedes Salisbury and Allum and Sidaway.
