The fast food chain has announced it's closing seating areas as part of measures to help the country tackle coronavirus.

A statement from the company on social media said it would shift to take-out mode across all of its stores in the wake of Covid-19.

Last week McDonald's announced it would be enhancing its cleaning regimes at its restaurants in order to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Steps include:

  • more sanitising of surfaces including high-chairs and touch-screen ordering tablets,
  • cleaning more regularly using disinfectants,
  • reminding employees of the importance of constant hand-washing
