19 year old Stephen Pickett has been sent to a young offenders institution and handed another driving ban.

Pickett, who's from Albion Road in Bradford, was stopped while driving a Saab through Larkhill on July 3rd 2019.

Officers found that as well as being disqualified, his car was also not insured and it was seized.

He appeared before Leeds Crown Court on Thursday 12th March, pleading guilty to driving whilst disqualified and failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time after he failed to appear at an earlier court hearing.

Pickett has been sentenced to 18 months detention in a young offenders institution and banned from driving for 39 months.

'NO REGARD FOR PENALTIES'

PC Rich Boston from Wiltshire Police said:

"Despite being banned from the roads, Pickett has continued to get behind the wheel of a car.

"He has previous convictions from other force areas relating to further driving offences but despite this, he has shown no regard for the penalties which have been imposed on him by the courts.

"I am pleased that he has been given an 18-month detention as well as a lengthy driving ban."
