They're looking to make things easier for vulnerable passengers - with a similar move in Hampshire too.

From tomorrow (Friday 20th March), people with bus passes will be able to use them at any time.

That follows pressure on social media to relax the rules during the coronavirus outbreak to support people that might otherwise find it difficult to get supplies.

The same relaxation's being brought in by Hampshire County Council too.

Councillor Rob Humby, Hampshire's Deputy Leader Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Environment, said:

"We understand these are difficult times for people and we are doing everything we can to help those who need it most. I hope that extending the times people can use their free bus passes may go some way in helping them make the most of dedicated early morning shopping hours for the elderly and vulnerable many supermarkets have now put in place."

Supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsburys and Iceland, as well as stores like Boots and Home Bargains have been bringing in dedicated shopping times to help support vulnerable people.
