The authority's leader's praised people for 'coming together at this exceptional time'.

Wiltshire Council say they're 'working hard to support communities' while the coronavirus outbreak takes hold.

They're asking any local voluntary groups set up across the county to get in touch with them to see if there's any further help that the authority can provide.

A survey's been put together by Wiltshire Council to help them understand what's been set up so far.

There have been a number of groups launched in the south of the county already, including in Salisbury, Amesbury, Wilton, Old Sarum and Ludgershall - all the details for those are here.

Wiltshire Council Leader, Cllr Philip Whitehead, said:

"We have been humbled, but not surprised, to see Wiltshire communities coming together at this exceptional time to support their fellow neighbours and residents. It just goes to show how resilient our communities are when faced with such an unprecedented challenge.

"We will do what we can to support these groups and ensure they have what they need to be as effective as possible. Many groups might not even require our help, but we want them to know we are with them every step of the way."

We've also put together a special Community Messaging page on our website to help spread the word about changes to normal services.
