The charity at Salisbury District Hospital say they're making some alterations, but they're grateful for our support.

Here's what they're going to be doing differently:

  • Closing the Stars Appeal bookshop in the Hospital's Main Reception until further notice
  • Suspending bucket collections in the Hospital and at local shops
  • Asking people to get in touch by telephone or email rather than visiting the Stars Appeal office

They've also said their work doesn't stop - as many of their projects are still continuing.

Among them is the free Wi-Fi around Salisbury District Hospital, which is helping patients keep in touch with their families while visiting is being restricted to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Therapy and counselling for staff, funded by Stars Appeal, is still ongoing.

Other projects like spinal unit recreation and accommodation for parents of special care babies continue as well.

WHAT ABOUT EVENTS?

The Stars Appeal's biggest event of the year is Walk for Wards at Wilton House, which is due to take place on Sunday 5th July.

The charity says that, as it stands, they're hopeful that it will go ahead.

If anything changes, they've promised to let supporters know as soon as possible.

They are advising people organising their own Stars Appeal events to 'review them in line with the latest Government guidelines'.
