The Amesbury Hub has been sharing their experiences of setting up a group to help others locally.

The group's been set up in the last couple of weeks, along with many others across South Wiltshire and West Hampshire.

Amesbury Hub's aiming to link volunteers with people that need help closest to them.

They'll then be providing support in getting hold of essential groceries, picking up prescriptions and even giving those in self-isolation a phone call to help with loneliness.

Dr Catherine Cook is a physiotherapist from Amesbury and has told us why she's set up the group:

The group has a website with more information about the support they can provide.

They're also getting help from Amesbury Town Council to use their offices to take phone calls - you can reach them on 01980 622525.

If you live any other areas, there's details about the local groups set up for different areas on our news page.

Amesbury Hub is looking to support as many people as possible in the town during the outbreak

Amesbury Hub is calling for more people who are able and willing to help others during the coronavirus outbreak to get in touch with them.

They're asking that anyone on that key workers list doesn't put themselves forward though, as their skills are needed elsewhere.
