The community bus service, helping older and vulnerable people get around is being stopped, during the Covid-19 crisis.

Community Transport South Wiltshire, which runs the Amesbury Hoppa, say they'll be ending the service at 6.00pm today (Monday 23rd March) until further notice.

They've said that's 'to protect passengers and drivers' of the service.

The charity's other Shopper Buses and Car Schemes are also suspended while the coronavirus outbreak is ongoing.

They'll be doing their best to keep supporting those who regularly use their services though:

"CTSW will still be monitoring calls with staff liaising with other support groups endeavouring to provide assistance to those most vulnerable.

"(We) hope that with financial support from local organisations, they will be able to continue to support its core aims to reducing isolation and loneliness in South Wiltshire."
