Data from Public Health England reveals Hampshire County Council continues to be local authority with the most confirmed cases.

Another day, another rise in the number of diagnosed cases for Hampshire County Council.

207 is the official figure as of 9am today (24th of March).

Other local authorities in the county have all seen new cases bringing the total in Hampshire to 263.

The figures are broken down as follows,

  • Hampshire County Council - 207
  • Southampton City Council - 24 cases
  • Portsmouth City Council - 29 
  • Isle of Wight Council - 3

WILTSHIRE

There six more cases of Covid-19 in Wiltshire Council's area bringing the total in the county to 41..

  • Wiltshire County Council -34
  • Swindon Borough Council - 7
Coronavirus
Both Wiltshire and Hampshire have seen a rise in diagnosed cases again.

  • Deaths 422

PLEA TO STAY AT HOME:

The Chief Medical Officer for England, Professor Chris Whitty, says we must all do our bit to help the NHS

"At this stage of the epidemic we need everyone to stay at home except in specific circumstances. The NHS depends on us making it difficult for the virus to spread. We all need to make changes. This will be very disruptive but it is essential to keep the community safe."
