The Borough Council in Hampshire has said they're suspending parking charges for the time being.

The fees for parking have been lifted from this morning (Wednesday 25th March), in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Test Valley Borough Council have explained a little more behind their reasoning:

"The new restrictions on movements mean that people should not be using our town centre car parks unless it is absolutely essential for them to do so."

WHAT ABOUT WILTSHIRE?

Spire FM News has asked Wiltshire Council if suspending parking charges is something they're considering.

They've told us that parking is 'due for discussion' in the coming days.

We'll provide any updates on that as soon as we have them.

NEW FOREST DISTRICT COUNCIL

They've told Spire FM that they're also discussing the idea or scrapping parking charges for the time being.

Their service updates website will have more information as any decisions are made.
