An incident happened in Endless Street in the city centre at 4.45pm yesterday (25th March).

The victim was crossing the road when he was attacked by a man who got out his car.

Police say the victim, who is in his 30s, was initially verbally abused before he was punched in the face, knocking him to the ground and causing his nose and lip to bleed.

PC Ben Dooley said:

“This was a nasty unprovoked assault. From speaking with the victim, we understand that there were a number of witnesses to the incident, who helped provide first aid. I am appealing specifically to these individuals – please get in contact as you may have information which could help with our investigation."

“We will not tolerate behaviour like this – this man’s actions have left the victim feeling understandably frightened and that is completely unacceptable.”
