As coronavirus spreads and people are washing their hands more regularly and thoroughly, hand gel and soap have been in high demand.

Now, to help people across the region, Downton Distillery have made their own hand sanitiser for free

After HMRC agreed to suspend the paying of tax against alcohol, the company no longer have to pay tax to create the gel.

So they have made several big batches, with people being asked to bring their own bottles to distribution points to fill them up.

At certain times, they are going to distribute the supplies in a few different locations.

DONATIONS NEEDED

The distillery are asking people to provide a donation to cover the costs and provide more supplies for the foreseeable future.

They have set up a Go Fund Me page for people to leave money easily, with a target of £20,000

They say this will help the team create 10,000 litres of hand gel.

You can find the page here - www.gofundme.com.
