Naomi House and Jacksplace will host their first 'concert' via Facebook tonight (Monday 30th March).

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Hampshire-based children's hospice has had to suspend its respite care services, and halt its fundraising activities.

Now, Naomi House is starting up a new fundraising campaign, and bring us a bit of entertainment while we're at home.

They're working with local musicians, who'll stream live gigs via their Facebook pages each night, asking viewers to make donations to the charity.

The first of the gigs will be tonight (Monday 30th March), and will continue 'for the foreseeable future'.

Paul Morgan, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:

"As a charity, the coronavirus has hit us hard, with respite services temporarily suspended and fundraising income coming almost to a complete stop. So we thought, what better way to uplift our communities, staff and families, whilst raising vital funds for our charity, than teaming up with the local music community?! So we're very happy to launch this brand new series of virtual gigs! Music is such a major part of daily life at Naomi House & Jacksplace, and we truly believe it has the power to join us together in these uncertain times."

One of the artists taking part in the 'Naomi & Jack Sessions' this week, will be Ollie Wade from Hampshire.

Ollie knows first-hand about the work of Naomi House & Jacksplace, as he wrote a single about his brother Ben, who used to attend the hospices.

Since then, he has performed at various gigs for the charity and said:

"I'm super excited to be the first artist to kick off Naomi & Jack's sessions. As you may know, Naomi House & Jacksplace means a lot to me as they helped care for my big brother, Ben, during his time with us and helped my family and I tremendously with afterlife care and support when we most needed it. The charity's fundraising has taken a real hit recently, and I'm determined to help where I can, so please people, tune in, listen to my new tunes and leave a little donation to support the families they help in this time of uncertainty."
