Second patient dies at Salisbury District Hospital with Covid-19

The NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed the news.

In a statement, the Trust has said: 

"Sadly a women in her eighties who had tested positive for COVID-19  died at Salisbury District Hospital on Wednesday 25th March.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends at this difficult and distressing time."

This is the second patient to have died at Salisbury District Hospital, having tested positive for coronavirus.

A man in his 50s, with underlying health conditions, passed away on March 11th.


The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is continuing to ask visitor numbers to the District Hospital to be kept to a minimum.

They've also made changes like closing the Springs Restaurant and Hedgerows Cafe to the public, and becoming staff only facilities.

Routine surgery has been cancelled and many outpatient appointments are being carried out over the phone to cut the number of people on site,
