The authority's launched a special service from Five Rivers to help some of Wiltshire's most vulnerable people.

The Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub is open for anyone who might be struggling at this time, like people who might be shielding, self-isolating, or might not have friends or family around to help.

As well as direct support, the service can also point people towards other community groups set up across Wiltshire in response to the Covid-19 crisis.

Salisbury's Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre is being turned into a base for the service:

Wiltshire Council also had a bit of support from Salisbury firefighters in getting things started too:

HOW TO GET IN TOUCH

There's a couple of ways that people to access the help being offered by the Wiltshire Wellbeing Hub.

You can email wellbeinghub@wiltshire.gov.uk at any time.

Their phone line's available by calling 0300 003 4576 - that's open from 8.00am to 8.00pm, Monday - Friday and 10.00am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday.

Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said:

"We have seen communities up and down the county supporting one another and that resilience and comradery has been inspiring.

"However, there might be some people out there who feel isolated, unable to leave their home to get food or medicine or not sure where to turn, so hopefully our hub can provide a friendly voice and reassurance to ensure people get the support they need."
