The Stars Appeal is funding a range of projects to help staff and patients during the coronavirus crisis.

The charity says "the fight against coronavirus is the greatest challenge our hospital has ever faced" with staff "working incredibly hard to make sure patients receive the best care."

It's funding a range of projects to show support including:

  • Free Wi-Fi so that isolated people can stay in touch
  • Therapy and counselling for staff
  • Specialist training
  • Morale boosting treats for staff
  • Hospital chaplains to give comfort and reassurance
  • Gardens for time outdoors

The Stars Appeal estimate the work will cost around £150,000 and are asking everyone who wants to help to make a donation.

Every donation, large or small, will make a difference.

"The support offered by Stars Appeal funded projects at this incredibly challenging time is more valuable than ever to both our hospital staff and patients. Please donate to enable the charity to continue to help us all through this crisis. Your support is vital to us."

The charity also says it's been inundated by kind offers of physical gifts, particularly food.

However, due to the Government’s advice to avoid unnecessary travel, and the Hospital’s infection control restrictions, please do not come to the Hospital site with donations.
