Five more patients with Covid-19 die at Salisbury District Hospital

It takes the total number of deaths at our NHS Trust to 11.

The latest cases have been confirmed by the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

Four of them were on Wednesday (1st April) and one other was on Thursday (2nd April) and all of them had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson from the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: 

"Sadly five additional patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 and had underlying health conditions have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

"Two men in their nineties, one woman in her eighties and one man in his seventies died on 1st April.

"One man in his eighties died on 2nd April.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients families and friends at this difficult and distressing time."

Nationally, there have been a total of 4,313 people who have died having tested positive for Covid-19 (as of 5.00pm on Friday 3rd April).

That's an increase of 708 in the last 24 hours.
