Wiltshire officers and their Ministry of Defence colleagues have been out patrolling.

The campaign to prevent illegal hunting yesterday (Monday 6th April) came after reports to police about hare coursing around the military training area.

As part of their patrols, the team also spoke to 'numerous people' about adhering to the Covid-19 restrictions about essential travel and social distancing.

Officers got out on Salisbury Plain to check for illegal hare coursing activity

PC Sharon Duggan, Tidworth's Neighbourhood Officer said:

"This was great team work from all officers involved and had a positive outcome through engaging, explaining and encouraging the public with no enforcement needing to take place."

Police are also asking us to keep reporting any suspicious activity or possible hare coursing offences on Salisbury Plain.

They've said they'd 'welcome' information and dash-cam footage that could help them with enquiries.
