Lockdown Festival in aid of Stars Appeal back for second week

After the success of last week's online music marathon for the Salisbury District Hospital charity, it's being brought back.

Organisers of the event, which brought DJs together for live streamed sets via Facebook, say the response last weekend was 'out of this world'.

It raised more than £3,000 for the Stars Appeal towards their coronavirus fund, so it's being put on again over the Easter Bank Holidays.

Dale Drake set it all up and told Spire FM's Martin Starke how it came about:

More than 40 DJs took part last time, playing music ranging from house to drum and bass, and trance to UK garage, and hailing from all over the world.

This weekend's Festival started on Thursday (9th April) and will go on until Monday (13th April).

As well as DJs, it's been opened up to other music acts too, like acoustic artists and solo acts.

Here's the line-up for today:

We can watch any of the sets via the Lockdown Online Festival Facebook page.

Dale Drake says everyone taking part was keen to support the charity:

"There's no marathons, or people able to do walks or anything like that this year so we raised money for the Stars Appeal and it's going towards their coronavirus fund. At times like this, you've got to help those sorts of things and it's amazing."

Dale's got first hand experience of the work the Stars Appeal does, as last year he was involved in a mountain bike accident and needed to use the CT Scanner, which was funded by the charity.

You can also donate to their JustGiving page, in support of the Stars Appeal directly.
