Four more deaths of patients with Covid-19 at Salisbury District Hospital

The NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that 21 people have now passed away at the Trust, having tested positive.

Details have been released of a man and a woman who died on Tuesday 7th April and two men who died yesterday Wednesday 8th April.

All of them had underlying health conditions.

A spokesperson for the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: 

"Sadly a total of 21 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital."

"One woman in her seventies and one man in his seventies, both with underlying health conditions, died on 7th April."

"One man in his eighties, and another man in his seventies, both with underlying health conditions, died on 8th April."

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients families and friends at this difficult and distressing time."

In England, latest figures from the Department of Health (as of 3.00pm Thursday 9th April) show that there have been a total of 7,248 people who have died in hospitals, having tested positive for Covid-19.

Those numbers do not include people who may have passed away at home or in care homes.

We don't know full recovery figures on a local or national scale.
