22 year old Uistin Epureanu from Yeovil was arrested on the A303 at Solstice Park early yesterday morning.

Officers were made aware of a broken down car that was in a dangerous position at around 6.00am on Monday (13th April).

When they arrived they found Epureanu, who then failed a roadside breath test.

He was also given a Fixed Penalty Notice for breaching Covid-19 restrictions.

Epureanu was later charged with drink driving, driving whilst disqualified, and using a vehicle without insurance.

He appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 14th April) where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced.

He's been handed an eight week prison term and disqualified from driving for three years.

Sergeant Russell Griffin said:

"It is always disappointing to arrest individuals for drink driving, especially given the current circumstances, and I am pleased that not only has this individual been given a custodial sentence, but has also been banned from driving for three years."
