The chain, along with its sister brand Warehouse, have made the move this afternoon (Wednesday 15th April).

This will affect more than 2,000 staff across the country, across 92 branches and hundreds of concessions.

Oasis has a branch on Salisbury's New Canal, which has been there since Spring 2018.

It was reported this week that the Oasis and Warehouse Group, which is owned by the failed Icelandic lender Kaupthing, began discussions with prospective buyers following an approach from an unnamed company.

Although there is understood to have been strong interest in a deal, the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic is thought to have made a solvent sale impossible to conclude.

It's the latest retailer to find themselves struggling, just 10 days after Debenhams also appointed administrators for their business.
