Further two deaths of patients with Covid-19 at SDH

The total number of fatalities at the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, where people have tested positive, now stands at 27.

The latest deaths occurred on Easter Monday (13th April) and Tuesday (14th April).

A spokesperson for the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: 

“Sadly a total of 27 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

"One man in his 80s, with pre-existing health conditions, died on Monday 13th April.

"One man in his 70s, with pre-existing health conditions, died on Tuesday 14th April.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of the patients at this difficult and distressing time.”

NATIONAL FIGURES

Across the UK, the Department of Health has confirmed that, as of 5.00pm on Wednesday 15th April, there have been a total of 13,729 deaths in hospitals of patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

That's an increase of 861 compared to the previous day.

The figures also don't take into consideration anyone who may have passed away with Covid-19 while at home, or in care settings.
