Covid-19 has had a major impact on the fundraising and corporate support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance charity receives.

The charity has been forced to postpone all fundraising events and close its Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charity Shops.

  • Wiltshire Air Ambulance's Critical Care Paramedics continue to operate on the frontline fighting the Coronavirus pandemic
  • The helicopter and crew is still attending emergencies and treating those critically unwell patients who need their specialist care

Now the charity has launched an Online Donation Bucket for the people of Wiltshire to fill up and share with family and friends.

It aims initially to raise £10,200 - the amount it costs daily to keep the lifesaving service operational.

The Online Donation Bucket can be accessed here

  • Every donation counts and goes towards saving lives
  • Please donate whatever you can
  • Please share the virtual bucket and pass it around to friends and family

Fundraising manager Des Regan said:

"The majority of our usual fundraising streams have been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. All of our own fundraising events have been postponed and the same applies to the countless community events which are arranged by the general public across Wiltshire for us."

"However, costs continue to be incurred for our lifesaving service, with our crew continuing to operate on the frontline, fighting this pandemic head on."

"The general public will be used to seeing our donation tins and buckets across the county – and now we're launching a virtual version."

"We want as many people as possibly to share the donation bucket on their social media channels like Facebook or retweet on Twitter - just get the message out there."

Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs to raise £3.75 million a year to keep flying and saving lives.

In March the charity celebrated its 30th birthday, having been operating its lifesaving service since 1990.
