Covid-19: Wiltshire has 45 new cases; Hampshire has double

Public Health England has released the latest case numbers by local authority region.


The latest figures published for Saturday (18th April) show there are now 575 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county.

That's a rise of 45 cases since Friday.

The figures for the county are broken down by local authority as follows:

  • Wiltshire Council area - 328
  • Swindon Borough Council area - 247


The number of cases recorded in the county now stands at 2,624

That's an increase of 91 cases within 24 hours.

The figures are broken down as follows:

  • Hampshire County Council area - 2,005
  • Southampton City Council area - 331
  • Portsmouth City Council area - 221
  • Isle of Wight Council area - 67
Department of Health and Social Care release the updated figures daily


The total number of people across the UK that have tested positive is now 114, 217 - an increase of 5,527 cases in 24 hours.

Figures released today (Saturday 18th April) show the number of people to have died in hospital, that have tested positive, now stands at 15,464.

That's a rise of 888 deaths reported since yesterday.

Updated figures haven't been released for the number of people that have recovered from the illness.

No details of the number of people tested in each local area are released.
