From today (Monday 20th April) there will be a reduction to the X4 and X5 bus routes.

The X4 is the service that runs through Salisbury, Amesbury and Larkhill via Archers Gate and Bulford.

These buses will be down to about one an hour.

The X5 meanwhile runs from Salisbury to Amesbury, Pewsey then onto Marlborough and Swindon.

This service will also run a reduced service.

You can find out all the times on the Salisbury Reds website.

This isn't the first change to bus timetables Salisbury Reds has had to make.

They've already had to reduce services on a lot of their routes.

This is all because of coronavirus and rules surrounding travel.

With most people now in lockdown there aren't as many people needing bus services.

Salisbury Reds has said:

We would like to thank all our customers for their patience during this time and commend our drivers who are all doing a fantastic job in difficult circumstances.

But, if you are a key worker and find that any of these changes result in difficulties getting to and from work the company is asking you to get in contact with them.

Some other changes are being made on services, to protect staff and customers.

Passengers are asked to avoid using cash for their fares where possible, encouraging to use cards or their clickit2ride app.

The front seats will be temporarily out of use to increase space between the driver and passengers.

On-board voice announcements have also been updated to remind passengers to wash their hands regularly, and to practice social distancing - keeping two metres apart - when queuing at bus stops.
