Four more patients with Covid-19 die at Salisbury District Hospital

A total of 34 people have now passed away at our hospital, having tested positive for the virus.

The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that three patients died on Friday 17th April, and one person has died today (Sunday 19th April).

They were: 

  • A man in his 70s who died on Friday
  • A woman in her 70s who died on Friday
  • A man in his 80s who died on Friday
  • A man in his 80s who died on Sunday

We're told that the man who passed away today (Sunday 19th) had pre-existing health conditions.

No further details have been released about the three patients from Friday 17th.

The Trust has said: 

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of the patients at this difficult and distressing time.”

NATIONAL FIGURES

Across the UK, the Department of Health has confirmed that, as of 5.00pm on Saturday 18th April, there have been a total of 16,060 deaths in hospitals of patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

That's an increase of 596 compared to the previous day.

The figures also don't take into consideration anyone who may have passed away with Covid-19 while at home, or in care settings.
