COVID-19: Deaths at Salisbury District Hospital rise by two

The total number of fatalities at the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, where people have tested positive, now stands at 36.

Both deaths occured yesterday (Monday 20th April). 

A spokesperson for the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust said: 

“Sadly a total of 36 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

Two men both in their eighties, both with pre-existing health conditions, died on 20th April.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”

NATIONAL FIGURES

Today (21st April) NHS England announced that a further 778 people that have tested positive for the virus have died in hospital. 

That brings the total up to 15,607

Meanwhile, 70 more have been confirmed in Scotland and 25 in Wales.
